ReplyDeleteDear Fr Michael Chua
ReplyDeleteYou asked me to email. I will be grateful for youre reply.
I wonder if you can help me- link up with the Orang ASli village in PaJam. This will assist me in making possible the 2 projects mentioned in the attached DRAFT letter intended for the Mentri Besar, Negri Sembilan. The rationale for doing so is akin to those global organisations - as attached.
It would be nice if I can visit during the time of my family[from Singapore and Sarawak]'s visit to Nilai - over the christmas period.
In summary, our plan are:
1. A heritage folk-centric bridging hub- in Nilai- near KLIA [ targetted for busy tourists] whereby the rural and Orange Asli folks could be helped towards developed living- with onsite livelihood opportunities through this research/showcase house/ specialised homestay with its centralised PR, advertising, marketing and transport and links[ eg, video chats and internet social utilities' interaction- with those rural and forest kampung[ with further income generating and ICT and other infrastuctures as per the PM's plan.
2. A green University with indegenous knowledge [ as has been suggested in global conferences and others - organised by UNNESCO AND UN- on a work-based accreditation programme - IN ASSOCIATION WITH VARIOUS - SME, UNIVERSITIES, NGO, RESEARCH BODIES- ABROAD. In doing so, I am aiming to do the same as 1 but on a bigger scale and more globalised.
We will be grateful if you can help us? We are interested to have Orange Asli and other rural folks and those who support them- or those whose heritage are in danger of been swept away by the tide of development- assist[with their knowledge of nature, environment, community] in creating the said in Nilai: a) hub; b) green university; The objective here is SO THAT WE WOULD NOT ncompass a monocultural/hollywood/ the bad influence of western approach of developed nations- a soul-less/ none creator/God-fearing culture- resorting to 'empty' consumerism and the accompanying social ills-community and family breakdown, mental illness, obesities, drugs, guns, knives and others- lose purpose and hope or a culture- devoid of their heritage and their voice- despite abudance of aids, etc- like those in London. Malaysia in her race towards developed status must learnt from the lessons of these nations and be pro-active in not inheriting their social ills- of which some of these social ills are already pointed out by the leader of Orange Asli- especially those forced into settlement. In attempting to be inclusive in the developed environment- such as those proposed in Nilai and additional income-generation -opportunity of heritage villages and forest habitats, we are aiming to pre-empt such social ill.
I look forwards to your reply.
Yours sincerely
